Quaver Programs employ Bloom's Taxonomy to encourage Higher Order Thinking about music, recognizing the student's cognitive abilities at various stages of development.

Quaver is dedicated to a total educational music experience, from traditional approaches to a multitude of creative, analytical and evaluative activities, and music application, including a focus on connections to life skills. Quaver offers interactive resources not available anywhere else to promote learning consistent with the higher levels of Bloom's Taxonomy, all the way to creating.

We examine all our content from the perspective of:

  • Remembering
  • Understanding
  • Application
  • Analysis
  • Evaluation
  • Creating

A few examples of Bloom's Taxonomy at work in Quaver Programs:

  • Our Contests aid in analysis and evaluation
  • Composition tools aid in creation of original music
  • ClassPlay activities ask students to sing and play together, applying the knowledge they have gained in the classroom.

In the end, we want to foster the highest levels of appreciation and love of music. There's great power in understanding how students learn and using tools that support the process.
